Gunn Ranch
June 9-11, 2006
Luckily for us, our friend Andrew has connections. And so instead of climbing Silver Star Mountain, the three of us spent the weekend at the lovely, lovely, lovely Gunn Ranch, nicely situated on 400 acres of preserved land, perched above the Methow Valley, a few miles northwest of Winthrop. Heaven.

The view of Gunn Ranch from the road, which is named Gunn Ranch Road (appropriately enough).

Ahh, the patio with views down to the Methow Valley and across to big mountains like Gardner and Silver Star.

Ahh, the breakfast nook with the same views as the patio.

Ahh, the fields above Gunn Ranch.

Ahh, a gopher snake slithers inches from Jill's foot as she holds open a barbed wire fence for Eric. This prompted a small adrenaline rush. The ranch was full of wildlife, including lots and lots of birds, this snake, a pair of inquisitive deer, and a black bear.

The other side of Gunn Ranch.

We took a ramble around the property on Sunday morning and had more lovely wet weather. Here's Andrew taking shelter under a pine.

Here's Jill doing likewise.
