San Juan Island

We were lucky enough to share Thanksgiving weekend with our good friends Kate and Joe who live in the big bad city, New York. We spent the holiday at Roche Harbor on San Juan Island.
Jill takes in the view from Young Hill at American Camp, which is part of the San Juan Island National Historical Park commemorating the near-war between Canada and the United States arising from a dispute over a pig.
Joe documents San Juan Island so he can remember it back in Midtown.
Jill climbs in a madrone tree, while Kate plays it safe.
